Brazilian edition will take place in April and winners will compete in the US final

MasterCard announces the MasterCard Masters of Code competition, an intense programming marathon that will travel to 10 cities around the world to meet the masters of our time: developers. Brazil was also part of the regional competition circuit and will host the event on April 11 and 12 in São Paulo.

Sponsored by MasterCard and organized by AngelHack, the Masters of Code competition will feature weekend regional events to bring together the world's best developers, designers and entrepreneurs who will master the APIs provided by MasterCard. Using these APIs, developers will be able to use MasterCard's unreleased assets, data and products in applications intended for global commerce. Participating teams will be expected to create innovative prototypes that demonstrate their programming and design skills, relating them to use cases, with a view to driving the next generation of e-commerce solutions.

The winning team from each region will win a trip to Silicon Valley to compete in the hackathon grand finale. The winner will also receive a prize of US$100,000 to develop their innovation, plus the following prizes: two weeks at the MasterCard Start Path accelerator headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, or another distance program; six-month mentorship with a member of the MasterCard Open API executive team and the Start Path program team and a 12-month waiver of a $250,000 payment processing fee using Simplify Commerce.

In California, winning regional teams will also be awarded a MasterCard Priceless Experience – Northern California to be held in Napa Valley and San Francisco.

“We encourage developers around the world to participate in the Masters of Code competition and use the full potential of MasterCard's APIs to create the next generation of global e-commerce solutions,” said Mario Shiliashki, Senior Vice President of Open APIs at MasterCard.
