Develop innovative solutions aimed at the legal universe and thus improve people's lives. This is the proposal of Global Legal Hackathon, a programming marathon that will bring together the main names in technology, law professionals, designers, advertisers, entrepreneurs, lawyers and innovation enthusiasts, at Softplan, in Florianópolis/SC.
The company from Santa Catarina, developer of SAJ (Justice Automation System) which computerizes the main Courts of the country, was chosen to be the Brazilian headquarters of the event, which will take place at the end of February. The Hackathon, initiative of Global Legal Blockchain Consortium and the North TexasBlockchain Alliance, supported by IBM, takes place simultaneously in another 50 cities across 25 countries around the world.
“In Florianópolis, in addition to Softplan, institutions such as IBM, OAB-SC, AB2L, Future Law, IEL, and others are already institutionally supporting the event. Within the logic of the ecosystem, the more supporters, the more chances of making a positive impact on the community. This impact involves encouraging an entrepreneurial culture, encouraging the use of new technologies to deal with social challenges and creating value for users and employees of the Justice environment in the country”, says Marcos Florão, Innovation director at Softplan.
The programming marathon takes place over 54 hours, between the 23rd and 25th of February at the company's headquarters in Sapiens Parque, in the north of the island of Florianópolis. The expectation of the organizers is to bring together around 10 thousand programmers from all over the world. At Softplan, around 200 people are expected. The best solutions developed will receive cash prizes in excess of R$ 10 thousand. Winners will also have the opportunity to go to the final stage, in March, during an event in New York.
