Framework aims to pave the way for transforming traditional networks into software-defined networks.

Logicalis has just introduced to the market Nep@l (Network Programability and Automation at Logicalis), a framework that supports companies on the path towards software-defined networks.

Developed by a multidisciplinary and multicultural team - involving specialist professionals from different countries -, Nep@l provides guidelines and standards to cover the main stages of adopting software-defined networks: alignment with business objectives, formulation of the network architecture, commissioning , operation and maintenance.

"Programmable and software-defined networks allow important gains in terms of flexibility and automation when compared to traditional networks. In the near future, they will be the basis of any digital transformation project for companies", evaluates Maurício Suga, CTO at Logicalis.

The executive explains that, despite the concept of software-defined networks, SDN (Software Defined Network) is not exactly a novelty, few use cases are explored due to the complexity of its adoption. "To simplify the adoption of software-based networks and help our customers to design the way forward, we created Nep@al, a framework based on best practices that facilitates the identification of automation opportunities, their implementation and their maintenance", he explains.

Based on Nep@l, Logicalis offers consulting, implementation and managed maintenance services for software-defined networks.
