With Juniper Networks' acquisition of Mist Systems, the partnership gains greater strength with Ingram Micro being its largest global distributor

Ingram Micro Brasil, a subsidiary of the largest global IT distributor, now distributes Mist Systems solutions, a WI-FI network manufacturer with a 100% solution designed to operate in the cloud under a native Artificial Intelligence platform, which was acquired by Juniper Networks , in 2019. With this partnership, Ingram Micro, which is the world leader in the distribution of Juniper products, extends its entire structure to Mist, with a focus on capturing and developing new independent channels in the Juniper Networks ecosystem.

"By combining Ingram Micro's expertise with extensive knowledge of networking, cloud solutions and security with Mist's flagship WLAN platform, we hope to accelerate the adoption of AI-controlled wireless networks across all industry segments," says Tiago Cadorin, Juniper Channel Manager.

The portfolio now being distributed by Ingram Micro in Brazil includes hardware, subscription and software licensing models by subscription. Alexandre Nakano, network and security director at Ingram Micro Brasil, explains that Mist's solutions make it possible to customize the most diverse environments and customer profiles and guarantee the investment for future expansions in a simple, fast and secure way.

With a modern cloud architecture based on microservices, in addition to high-tech access point (AP) models, the bet is on the distribution of innovative services, such as Wi-Fi Assurance, Wired Assurance, AI-oriented Virtual Assistant, Premium Analytics, User Engagement and Asset Visibility. "As part of the Juniper family, Mist's WLAN platform is designed to work in conjunction with Juniper's LAN, SD-WAN and security solutions already offered by Ingram Micro on its channels," says Cadorin. Among the solutions, Alexandre Nakano highlights the Marvis virtual network, an assistant guided by artificial intelligence for autonomous networks that interprets commands in human language and simplifies IT operations in a proactive and optimized way. "The implementations are interesting, fast and with friendly interfaces for users and managers", explains the executive of Ingram Micro Brasil.

With Mist solutions, Ingram Micro is able to meet and support demands in various verticals, such as healthcare, education, government, retail and others that increasingly demand Wi-Fi network solutions with AI in Cloud that require less time in implementation, investment guarantee, scalability and low operating cost. “Retail is likely to benefit most from Mist's new features. Retailers can track in real time how shoppers are interacting with different brands or even how customer and employee traffic is flowing to different areas of the store. These analytics capabilities are important tools to help retailers plan their marketing strategy more effectively," explains Cadorin.

Juniper's manager also highlights the advanced features that Mist brings to network visibility, so IT managers can examine usage patterns of Wi-Fi and wired network, for example. In hotel chains, according to him, the manager can identify how much resources are being used by guests in relation to corporate users, allowing them to determine which investments in terms of bandwidth will be necessary, in addition to having detailed insights into the perceived experience by each user. "The information provided by the Mist solution can help companies better allocate salespeople based on historical data, optimize workflows in a factory, or even determine the effectiveness of retail marketing campaigns," he explains.

Ingram Micro Brasil's network and security director highlights the licensing option offered by Mist's services. "It is great for reducing upfront costs, allowing for implementation planning and coverage areas, as it offers the choice of time and level of service required at different times of implementation, making the environment and investment more flexible and dynamic for both sides of the project. business," explains Nakano. According to him, it is a simple, flexible, scalable and viable acquisition model for complex environments that require Wi-Fi integrated to the cloud with an integrated IoT module as a great differential, allowing the creation of IT security and alert scripts. "We know how much it facilitates our partners' business".

For resellers, Ingram Micro will offer a training and certification program. Mist, on the other hand, has a channel program with differentiated incentive campaigns for partners. "Ingram Micro, just as it has been supporting Juniper for several years, will strategically contribute with exclusive marketing programs, financial and logistics services, technical support and product distribution throughout Brazil, facilitating the adoption of controlled networks by artificial intelligence (AI)," says Juniper's channel manager.
