Lenovo Group announced the opening of a new company in China, focused on creating a leading business in smart internet-connected services and devices. The company will start operations on April 1, 2015 and will operate under a different name and brand.
 
The purpose of this action is to help Lenovo compete in China's growing consumer mobile device market by focusing not only on equipment, but also on software and application development and driving closer engagement with customers. 
 
Lenovo has its own branded online channels and will continue to strengthen them as part of its 'go-to-market' strategy, while the new company will focus exclusively on sales, marketing and development. of products aimed directly at the consumer, using a business model focused on the Internet.
 
Chen Xudong, current president of Lenovo China and Asia Pacific – Emerging Markets (East Asia, Hong Kong, ASEAN and India), will serve as CEO of this new company. He has extensive experience in marketing, sales and operations, as well as a proven track record in growing Lenovo's China business to record levels in PCs, tablets and smartphones.
