The architectural firm Kroner&Zanutto, with 25 years of experience, positively evaluates the use of the BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology, which it started using in 2014, and considers that it is a path of no return in the world of AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction).

Since its implementation, the company's partners have sought to specialize in practice, both in terms of training their teams and in finding the best tools for BIM, which led to the choice of Autodesk technology.

The investment made in this process, when accounted for on a day-to-day basis, was 10% at each workstation. This is because according to a study by the company, the application of BIM promoted a reduction of 37% in hours worked. For this study, Kroner&Zanutto used Bloomin'Brands' Outback restaurant chain as an example.

According to the network's vice president of Development and Expansion, Gilberto Soares dos Santos, the company has a strong focus on utilities management, prioritizing sustainability and, therefore, the BIM methodology, in the long term, has become so strategic.

According to the executive, the complexity of the challenge of integrating the areas involved in the project is compensated by the practical benefits, such as the gain in agility (today a project can be done in half the time), as well as simplifying the language of the plans for approval. internal. “Imagine that a business-focused executive doesn't understand details exposed in a 2D blueprint. With a 3D project, it becomes simpler and more effective to clarify doubts and obtain approvals”, concludes Gilberto.

Today, Outback restaurants have a utility management system that, through hardware, can control all water, electricity and gas consumption, in order to avoid waste such as leaks, for example. With the use of BIM libraries, this process tends to become even more effective, since information about the maintenance of each store can be easily accessed.

“The adoption of BIM means that we are able to offer our clients the cost-benefit advantage of a project whose details are precise, as well as helping us to price our work according to the hours required for its development”, says Alexandre Kroner, partner at Kroner&Zanutto Arquitetos.

For João Carlos Yazbek, Autodesk sales leader for the São Paulo region, it is very important to expose to the architecture market, whether corporate or residential, the advantages that BIM can generate, through the use of adequate tools, combined with a prepared team.
