President of ABES highlighted the importance of financing for innovation
 
The Millennium Institute, the Brazilian Association of Business Communication (Aberje) and the Motion Picture Association – Latin America, an entity that represents the six largest film studios in the world in Brazil (Disney, Fox, Sony, Universal, Warner Bros and Paramount), promoted, on December 2, the event “Brazil: creativity, innovation and competitiveness”, at Espaço Aberje Sumaré, in São Paulo.
 
The purpose of the event was to promote debate on the relevance of intellectual property, creative economy and innovation for Brazilian economic competitiveness.
 
Jorge Sukarie, president of ABES, participated in the panel “The Innovative Brazil”. In her participation, Sukarie spoke about the performance of the Brazilian technology market in the country, presented the work carried out by ABES to promote innovation in the sector and the defense of intellectual property, pointing out the numbers of copyright violations in the country and the actions of entity in the fight against piracy.
 
The director also addressed the importance of financing for the innovation of micro, small and medium-sized companies: “Finance can be a determining factor for innovation in SMEs, which often lack their own funds to conduct innovation projects”. Sukarie also highlighted the advantages of the MSME Inovadora credit line, launched this year by BNDES. click here to see the presentation.
