Entrepreneur, controller of one of the largest Higher Education networks in Brazil, Ser Educacional, acquires 20% from the operation of the technology company from Pernambuco and strengthens the path for an IPO in the coming years
When you think of promising sectors for the future, certainly that of technology comes to mind as one of the first memories. With an average growth of 20% in the last few years and part of an expanding market, driven by the digital transformation of companies, the Pernambuco technology company Pitang Agile IT prospects a growth of 12% in Brazil in 2021 and became the focus of millionaire investment by the entrepreneur Janguiê Diniz. The entrepreneur, through his Venture Capital Epitychia, for an undisclosed amount, acquired 20% of the company's operation, which in 2020 stood out with the acquisition of other players in the segment and was listed as one of the best places to work, from according to the GPTW Brasil 2020 award - Great Place To Work.
With over 15 years of experience, Pitang has shown exponential growth in recent years and has attracted the attention of domestic and foreign investors. “In 2020, we announced the acquisition of two other companies, which further strengthened our market positioning. We focus on growing, investing in quality of service, talents and operation. The entry of a new partner in the project, of the quality of entrepreneur Janguiê Diniz, boosts our participation in the segment and, each with his expertise, will contribute to the goal of becoming one of the largest technology companies in the country, with the increase of our investment capacity and acceleration of the implementation of our business plan ”, explains Antônio Valença, Pitang's managing partner.
Highlighted as an entrepreneur in the education sector, but with businesses in several segments and investing heavily in startups and technology companies, Janguiê starts to act as an investing partner and advisor to Pitang Agile IT, focusing on the company's growth and development based on the market and your opportunities. “The evolution of society as a whole is very much based on technology. Pitang, which is among the largest companies in Brazil in software development and is among the five largest in the Northeast, aims to accelerate its turnover in the coming years, exceeding R$ 100 million, and culminating in the realization of an IPO (Initial Public Offering - in Portuguese, “Initial Public Offering”) on the Stock Exchange, joining the large Brazilian technology companies. “Going public allows companies to obtain resources to finance their activities, and public companies have more visibility in the market. This is already an objective that we have as a Pitang and that we constantly evaluate the ideal moment to accomplish. The arrival of a partner with experience in a process like this will facilitate and unveil new horizons, taking the company further ”, points out Gustavo Bastos, managing partner at Pitang Agile IT.
Always analyzing the market and growth opportunities through acquisitions, Pitang has a shareholding in other IT services companies, such as BBChain - through which it started to serve 80% of the blockchain project market in Brazil; Dreamm, a consultancy focused on Salesforce solutions that serves clients of various sizes and segments; and Qualiti, a company focused on training professionals for the IT sector. “The IT, telecommunication and communication sector already accounts for 7% of national GDP, with the expectation of reaching 11% by 2022. The moment is for growth and investments, and the entry of the new partner will help us in the discussion and implementation of strategies that accelerate our growth ”, concludes Roberto Borges, also a managing partner at Pitang.
Following the company's tradition, Janguiê participated in the afternoon of the 29th of an online meeting with all “pitangueiros”, as the company's employees are called, in which he was introduced as a new investing partner and advisor.
