Located in São Paulo, the Cube will have 5 thousand square meters

Banco Itaú and Redpoint e.ventures launched Cubo, a non-profit center for technological entrepreneurship in São Paulo, scheduled to open in September 2015.

Cubo's headquarters will have an area of over 5,000 square meters and will accommodate around 250 entrepreneurs, up to 50 startups, and infrastructure to offer entrepreneurial education content for those interested in the topic. In addition to the coworking environment, the space will also have an auditorium for 130 people, a cafeteria, rooms for courses and a space for events on the roof of the building.

“The union of forces between Itaú and Redpoint e.ventures makes Cubo a new way of promoting the technological entrepreneurship market in Latin America, making it more innovative and transforming for the whole society”, explains Ricardo Guerra, executive director of Itaú Unibanco.

“We are very excited about the launch of Cube and the milestone it represents. Supporting ecosystem development is an important part of our mission at Redpoint. In addition to being a new pillar and meeting point, we are sure that Cubo will mark the beginning of a new, faster and more collaborative phase in our market. Now no one can hold back this group of entrepreneurs!”, says Anderson Thees, founding partner of Redpoint e.ventures.

Entrepreneurs supported by Cubo will have the support of mentors specialized in the most diverse topics and will also have access to an entrepreneurial education platform that provides workshops, lectures and promotion of events for entrepreneurs and those interested in the sector.

Another differential of the center is the creation of a network of global connections between various market agents – entrepreneurs, technology companies, investors, students, universities, sector entities, among others, in order to develop innovative solutions for society. In addition, Cubo will offer an events and congregation center for the ecosystem of digital startups in Brazil and Latin America.

Itaú will be the maintaining partner and main provider of funds for Cubo. The startup selection and entrepreneurial education activities will be curated by Redpoint e.ventures, and will be carried out by the company's team of experts.

Itaú and Redpoint e.ventures will use their relationship networks to leverage the businesses of digital startups that pass through Cubo, and Redpoint will also use its expertise to bring international know-how, offering quality content, best practices and tools for market.

Cubo's proposal is to make a meticulous selection of startups that have a great capacity for transforming society. Points such as market performance, execution capacity, reach of scale, and offering value to other residents will also be considered.
