Reinsurance company invests in solutions to improve performance and ensure the safety of its processes
Used to managing risks and protecting the financial health of insurance companies, IRB Brasil RE, with almost 80 years of experience in the country, bet on a virtualized 100% environment to modernize its technology infrastructure. With Citrix's XenApp and XenDesktop solutions, the company allowed employees to work remotely and thus complete their tasks without having to be physically in the office.
By expanding its business to Latin America and other countries, IRB realized that its employees needed mobility. And so that the team could be productive from anywhere and, mainly, with access security, the company decided to invest in Citrix solutions.
"We feel a great improvement in the agility of our work, because today we have it very easy to work remotely, even outside Brazil, very quickly and efficiently", says José Lacerda, director of Property and Casualty Underwriting. "Because we are a business area of the company, it is very important to be able to circumvent situations such as strikes and traffic problems, letting the team work from home without loss of productivity", adds the executive.
Before implementing Citrix solutions, IRB acquired Thin Clients, computers with a simpler structure, but which, through virtualization, can "run" with great performance any application, from a text editor to more complex ones such as CRM and ERP. . "Citrix solutions gave us more agility and efficiency in our processes. There was a considerable reduction in support calls", highlights Antônio Marques, Operations and Infrastructure manager at IRB. With virtualization, work tools also started to run on smartphones and tablets, which brought mobility to employees.
In addition to the reduction of around 60% in the number of calls to the IT team, among the benefits of migrating to the virtual environment is greater information security and the standardization of the entire technology park, which guarantees more efficiency in business management .
"Virtualization has optimized the work experience of several companies, allowing mobility and more agile ways of working. For the IRB, we realized that Citrix solutions have improved processes for employees, which follow the needs of customers in different segments", he says. The implementation of Citrix technology was carried out in conjunction with technology provider Add Value, which also carried out technology customization and support.
