Data from Rio do Sul will be used in interfaces of the web giant

The companies IPM Informática, specialized in systems for public management, and Qi Network, a partner of Google in Brazil, are responsible for operationalizing the multinational's first partnership in the country with a city hall that operates a cloud management system: the municipality of Rio de Janeiro. do Sul, in the Itajaí Valley, in Santa Catarina. The agreement was signed in February 2015 and IPM's management software, Atende.Net, is being integrated with Google Apps for Work corporate solutions. Google for Education tools, composed of pedagogical applications, will also be made available in the Municipal Education Network of the municipality.

System adaptations involve the use of all corporate platforms by public servants and employees of the city of Rio do Sul with a single login, including emails. Information from sectors such as Human Resources, Purchasing, Procurement and Administration will be integrated. “We are in a stage of analysis and requirements gathering, which is up to each company and soon we will start the development for the integration. It is an innovative process and extremely beneficial to municipal employees and the community”, says Fernando Bastos, special IT advisor for the city of Rio do Sul.

For IPM's CEO, Aldo Luiz Mees, public management will gain efficiency and agility as public data is accessible to employees through the Google interface, which is friendly and has numerous tools for everyday use. The manager of the company's Technology and Research Center, Cléber Nardelli, explains the advantages of integration, which involves the use of management data with widely known and easy-to-operate tools, such as Google Drive and Google Docs: "The technology used in the development of of a web solution must be more robust to be operationalized in city halls through cloud computing. By achieving this goal, we naturally envision a series of tools that can be integrated into Atende.Net, as is the case with Google Apps”.

Google Apps is based on cloud computing and simplifies daily tasks such as budgeting, scheduling and invoicing, as well as sharing documents and receiving suggestions for days and times for scheduling meetings. “We will make administration more productive through an instant communication platform, intelligent tools for storing and collaborating documents with information security”, explains Rômulo Martins, partner at Qi Network.

The city hall of Rio do Sul took the first step towards the modernization of public management in 2013, by adhering to cloud computing with the Atende.Net system, from IPM Informática. The technological solution supports several features such as the single citizen registration for all sectors of the municipality and self-service via the internet.
