Initiative will be presented in a webinar this Wednesday (23) and aims to assist public managers

The Institute for Applied Economic Research (Ipea) and the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development (ABDI) launched, on Wednesday (23), HUBTEC, a virtual platform dedicated to encouraging innovation policies. The project, which has the support of the British government, will offer a database with information on public procurement in the innovation sector - called technological orders.

The partnership arose from the elaboration of the good practice guide on technological orders, recently published by Ipea. The institute will be responsible for producing studies and analyzes published on the platform, whose target audience is public and private sector managers. Among the topics to be addressed are legislation on technological orders, examples of good practices and technical content.

In the opinion of André Rauen, Director of Studies and Sectorial Policies for Innovation at Ipea, HUBTEC is an innovative, low-cost project that will have a positive impact on the performance of public and private sector managers. “We will translate our research into the real practice of planning, monitoring, executing and evaluating innovation policies”, he observes.

In addition to informing, HUBTEC will have a community of experts with the capacity to answer questions, discuss cases and evaluate lessons learned. The objective is to help overcome the challenges in the design of projects with concrete technological risks.

The new platform was presented yesterday (23), in a webinar on Public Procurement of Innovation, open to the public through subscription. Organized by the British Government, ABDI and Connected Places Catapult (UK), an entity that operates in innovation and Public Procurement projects, the debate aimed to foster the exchange of experiences and a constructive dialogue between the United Kingdom and Brazil on the agenda of innovation policies.
