The Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Aldo Rebelo, reiterated Pasta's mission in the face of the demands of the Anjos do Brasil entity to expand investments in innovative companies in the country. "The Ministry is committed to the claims of Anjos do Brasil. The ability to innovate is directly linked to the economy's ability to expand job opportunities, generate jobs, high-tech rents and taxes," he said.

Angel investment is a growing practice in the country and in the world, and consists of the combination of capital and intelligence capable of supporting the development of high impact businesses. The focus of this type of investment is high potential innovative companies. The third edition of the congress, promoted by the non-profit organization Anjos do Brasil, an entity that aims to promote the growth of angel investment to support innovation entrepreneurship, brought together speakers from the government, the private sector and national and international entities, to discuss the development of this market in Brazil, trends and best practices.

At the event, topics were presented that show how the performance of these investors contributes to the economy and to the growth of organizations, evolution in Brazil, sectorial trends, angel investment in the world, crowdfunding, investment clubs, platforms, public policies of stimulus and opportunities . According to Anjos do Brasil, angel investments currently total R$ 688 million in Brazil and have development potential, in 2015, of R$ 1.4 billion.

"I believe that the State, the government, should pay close attention and support with zeal, affection, enthusiasm, with concrete measures, deeply understanding the nature of actions, of initiatives like the one by Anjos do Brasil. It is with this vision, this mission , that we have instructed our servers at MCTI. I want you to count on us", stated Aldo Rebelo.

Challenges

The president of Anjos do Brasil, Cassio Spina, who met with the minister, in Brasília, in April, to discuss the situation of technology-based companies in the country, stressed that it is necessary to give legal protection to angel investors, for through regulation, and to develop policies to encourage angel investment. "Angel investment plays a critical role in financing start-up companies. Research shows that companies that received these investments grow more and develop faster, this can make a difference to Brazilian entrepreneurship," he said.
