Juan Quirós, president of Investe São Paulo, presented the collaborative tool

Investe São Paulo has just launched the Mapa SP Conecta, the first mapping of companies and entities in the startup support ecosystem in the State of São Paulo. “The SP Conecta Map will be important to strengthen the performance of the State's support ecosystem and even to assess the real dimension of this complex”, observed Juan Quirós, president of Investe São Paulo.

At the map launch ceremony, held at the beginning of the month at Cubo, in São Paulo, Erminio Lucci, director of Investe São Paulo, pointed out the motivations for developing the map: “There was a lack of centralized and easily accessible information on the participants of the ecosystem . In addition, as the sector has a dynamic nature, we saw that a collaborative and constantly updated tool was necessary”, he said.

The creation of the SP Conecta Map was encouraged by vice-governor Márcio França, who heads the Secretariat for Economic Development, Science, Technology and Innovation, to which Investe SP reports. “The State of São Paulo is the cradle of Brazilian innovation. Here, for example, we have one of the best research and development structures in Latin America. In addition, we have one of the most promising startup markets in the world. This tool only adds to this market”, he said.

The tool, which has collaborative content, seeks to give greater visibility to public innovation agents, corporations, coworking spaces, incubators, universities, technology parks, venture capital funds, accelerators, associations, consultancies, among other institutions.

The idea is that the entities register themselves – with the monitoring and validation of the Investe SP team – and inform how they can help startups. They will also be able to publicize events, job vacancies in the sector, photos and contact details.

The map has an organized and easy to navigate interface. Anyone wishing to register their company or entity must access the SP Conecta Map at www.mapme.com/spconecta and click on “Add to map”. To do so, it is necessary to log in to the system through an account on Facebook, Linkedin or Mapme itself.
