There are, nowadays, a multitude of programming languages. And, even with the proliferation of languages and technological advances, "the COBOL language maintains its space in the market and completes 60 years since its creation", highlights Luiz Gustavo dos S. André, CEO of Interon, an associate of ABES, a company Brazilian company with over 35 years dedicated to transforming and innovating mission-critical business applications. “Its evolution allows that, even though it is an old language, it remains updated and prepared for new demands and trends, such as, for example, creating apps for Android or a web application”, he adds.

To celebrate 60 years of the COBOL language, Interon prepared the campaign “COBOL: “We are 60! . “We aim to show the union of 60 years of experience with the speed of a child, demonstrated through our COBOL Gallery, which features photos of people of different ages who, in some way, have their lives related to COBOL, such as the children of developers”, explains Luiz Gustavo. “Celebrating 60 years in a market in which so many new technologies are born with the same ease that they are extinguished, confirms the power of evolution of COBOL, its competence in its purpose”, he points out.

According to the executive, the new version of isCOBOL 2019 R2, released in September 2019, is a commemorative version for the 60 years of Cobol, with new features and technologies for the language and developers.
