Mobile connection grew 12% in the last quarter among users

Navegg, a company specializing in online audience analysis, recorded that the number of Brazilian Internet users grew by 3% in the last quarter, reaching 105 million.

Of the total number of users, 57% are men and 43% are women. Regarding age, 46% are in the age group between 25 and 34 years old, while 27% are between 18 and 24 years old. Class C is the majority among Brazilian Internet users, with 61%. Classes A and B add up to 37%. Only 2% belongs to the E class.

In June, access to sports websites increased by 12%, due to the Confederations Cup, which moved the country during this period. In addition, the wave of demonstrations also affected the behavior of Internet users. The protests were leveraged by people who were primarily informed via the internet and communicated through social networks, echoing the same posture seen on the streets on the web. As a result, access to websites related to social causes increased by 67%.

The amount of Internet users who showed purchase intention was quite significant. In July, more than 25 million people used the network to search for good prices and spent more time than usual in online stores. Technological products and fashion and beauty articles were the most searched items.

Mobile contributed to the increase in network users. Connections of this type grew by 12% in the last quarter, with more than 11 million people accessing the internet via tablets and smartphones. In this study, Navegg identified a balance between men and women, which demonstrates that the penetration of mobile devices is very similar to the general demographic profile of the Brazilian population.
