Conducted in partnership with RNP, the project aims to offer the market an open AI platform
An open source platform designed to offer resources for the creation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications for agribusiness – one of the most important sectors of the Brazilian economy, which can obtain significant gains in productivity and efficiency from the use of this technology. This is the focus of the project conducted by CPQD in partnership with RNP – National Education and Research Network, with the support of resources from Programs and Projects of National Interest (PPIs) in the Areas of Information and Communication Technologies, of the Ministry of Science. , Technology, Innovations and Communications.
“The availability of an open AI platform, which provides the developer with standardized resources, in a fast, integrated and secure way, is an important initiative to stimulate the innovation environment in the field”, says Fabrício Lira Figueiredo, Business Development manager at CPQD's Intelligent Agribusiness. “The idea is to provide, through this platform, basic elements that can facilitate the development of specific AI applications for agribusiness by startups and other companies that operate in this sector, providing robustness and stability for large-scale operations”, he adds.
Lasting three years, the project – which began in August 2018 – is divided into three areas of activity. One of them focuses on the development of learning and predictive analytics applications, for example, for monitoring, optimizing and controlling production and quality. Another provides for the development of computer vision applications (with images and videos) aimed at identifying patterns, among other possibilities. The third aims to develop applications for dialogue systems (virtual assistant) for agribusiness.
Technological reference in the country, CPQD integrates the open innovation ecosystem that has been leveraging entrepreneurship, through its recognized competence in the Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Connectivity, Blockchain and Electric Mobility. CPQD is a private organization, with more than 40 years, that delivers services and develops technologies of products and mission-critical systems adhering to the complex needs of the market.
