Intel announced the acquisition of the startup Kno, specialized in the development of educational software. The company was founded in 2009 and is recognized for its interactive books for tablets and other mobile devices.
 
The goal, according to Intel vice president John Gavin, is to expand the company's new education segment. With the acquisition of Kno, the library of digital content will reach more than 225,000 titles. "The Kno platform gives administrators and teachers the tools they need to assimilate, manage and monitor educational content."

In order to encourage a new model of teaching and learning in classrooms, Intel Brasil also announced the arrival on the market of a new educational tablet designed by Intel Education Solutions, expanding its portfolio of solutions for education.
 
To provide more interactivity and collaboration between students and teachers, the tablet features all the functions and applications offered by Intel Education Software, in addition to an easy-to-use platform that allows students to create compelling content. Device features include front and rear cameras, tactile pencil, microphones and built-in speakers that add multimedia content to learning. The tablet has a single-core Intel Atom Z2460 processor and Android 4.0 operating system.
 
 “After decades of working with educational initiatives around the world, we have launched this new product that is 100% Intel, created and developed to help teachers and schools develop the skills and empower their students for the demands of the 21st century”, said Edmilson Paoletti, Manager of Intel Education Solutions in Brazil.
