Registration for Smart City Expo Curitiba 2019 is now open, which will take place on March 21 and 22 at Expo Barigui. After the success of this year's meeting, Curitiba will once again host the Brazilian edition of the largest event on smart cities in the world. ABES institutionally supports the event.

The international forum has the support of City Hall and Vale do Pinhão, the municipality and ecosystem movement to bring innovation to the entire city.

“As in the first edition, startups from Curitiba will exhibit solutions and products at Smart Plaza Vale do Pinhão, a space intended to promote the city’s development ecosystem”, anticipates Cris Alessi, president of Agência Curitiba, an agency linked to the City Hall and responsible for capital's entrepreneurship policy.

The expectation for the 2019 edition of the event is to receive more than six thousand people, including representatives from 80 Brazilian cities and 25 cities abroad.

Participants will have free access to the fair area after registering on the website. For the congress area, it is necessary to register and purchase a passport for both days.

The event will have four main themes: enabling technologies for smart cities; governance in digital cities; creative, sustainable and human cities; and planning innovative and inclusive cities.

Among the novelties are the doubling of the exhibition area with solutions for smart cities and the expansion of the congress area, which will host more parallel exhibitions and will have a capacity for 1,600 people. Another novelty will be the business roundtables aimed at businessmen and executives from the most diverse areas. The partnership with the National Front of Mayors (FNP) will also be maintained to receive mayors from all over Brazil at the event.

iCities, a company from Curitiba specialized in solutions for smart cities, is responsible for organizing the Smart City Expo Curitiba in partnership with the City Hall. The forum is endorsed by FIRA Barcelona, a public consortium formed by the Municipality of Barcelona, the Government of Catalonia and the Chamber of Commerce of Barcelona, and which is the organizer of the Smart City Expo World Congress, the world's largest event on smart cities, which takes place every year. in Barcelona.
