Endeavor and Locaweb team up again to find the 10 technology and internet startups
The new program begins in November in which Locaweb and Endeavor seek to find the next 10 big names of technology and internet startups in Brazil, the Startup Network🇧🇷 Applications run from November 4 to 28, 2013, with the program period with the winners running from January to December 2014.
The 10 chosen will join the other 10 already selected in the Startup Network pilot project, carried out in late 2012 and early 2013. They will be mentored by the Endeavor network, which includes Endeavor entrepreneurs, investors and market specialists, in addition to the support of Locaweb with training and access to the company's solutions. Through the Plugme.co platform, those selected will be able to access this network and receive help to solve the challenges of their startup.
According to a study carried out by the Start Up Genome Compass, companies that have mentors grow 3.5 times more and raise 7 times more capital. Following this line, Flávio Jansen, president of Locaweb and mentor of Endeavor, states that it is very important to create opportunities for entrepreneurs through access to technology, mentoring and management tools. “The market is increasingly prepared to receive these new ventures, but on the other hand, these entrepreneurs still need specialized support to leverage their business”, says Jansen.
All applicants must apply through the website. plugme.co and filling out a questionnaire objectively, meeting the selection criteria for the profile of the entrepreneur and the business. Endeavor will analyze all entries and invite those who most suit the criteria to a final panel, which will take place on December 3rd at Locaweb's headquarters.
Locaweb will subsidize 70% of the cost of the program and those selected will only pay a monthly fee of R$ 200.00 while they are participating in the Startup Network. In addition, all of them will have free access to the technology company's services for one year.
Angel investors, accelerators and investment funds can also indicate their startups for them to apply through the website, which can further increase the impact of the work carried out by these agents.
