Entries for the Chamber of Deputies Hackathon 2013 contest are open until September 20th. The marathon will bring together, between October 29th and November 1st, programmers and developers from across the country to create applications that increase transparency in the dissemination of parliamentary work and collaborate to improve the legislative process.
 
To participate, it is necessary to present a project for a web solution that facilitates access to information on legislative activity and uses public data to promote a more in-depth knowledge of the activities of the National Congress.
 
Public interest

A maximum of 50 proposals will be selected based on the criterion of creativity and public interest. Its authors will have all expenses with airfare, accommodation, food and transportation borne by the Chamber. During four days, they will be able to develop the applications from the data available on the Chamber's website on the Internet and from other public databases.
 
An evaluation committee made up of technicians from the House and representatives of society will choose the three big winners, who will each receive a prize of R$ 5 thousand, sponsored by the Union of Servants of the Federal Legislative Power and the Federal Court of Accounts ( Sindilegis).
 
Programmers, developers and inventors in general may participate. You must be Brazilian and be 18 years of age or older at the time of registration. Proposals, which must be entered exclusively using the form available at www.camara.leg.br, can be signed individually or by teams of up to three members.
