Registration goes until August 20th and 10 startups will be selected

Anprotec and Samsung announced the call to select the companies that will participate in the second round of the Startup Acceleration Program, the result of the collaboration between the Association, the Multinational and the Korean Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (CCEI) and support from the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications (MCTIC).

This new stage of the program brings novelties in relation to the first. “The number of places in the program was increased to 10 startups. In addition, the amount of financial support has been substantially increased, reaching up to R$ 250 thousand per project”, says Antonio Marcon, Samsung's Research and Development manager in Brazil and responsible for the program.

According to him, another novelty of this round is that the minimum operating time of candidate companies will no longer be required. “This is also a great opportunity for younger projects,” he says. Upon joining the program, companies will receive financial support and access to a broad package of services aimed at improving the technology and marketing of their products and services. Among these activities, access to technologies, training, advice, mentoring, networking and support for research, development and innovation activities stand out.

“The participants in this second stage will benefit from the improvements made in the methodology and acceleration practices since the first stage, such as the expansion of the network from 5 to 12 accredited incubators throughout the national territory. Another factor to highlight is that the best startups will also be recommended for the international exchange program in South Korea, creating opportunities for them to develop their export skills and access potential customers and investors in the global market” says Sheila Oliveira Pires, Executive Superintendent from Anprotec.

Applications can be made until August 20th. on this link, by companies from all over Brazil. To apply, startups must present their product or service project proposals in one or more areas of interest to the Program, which are: (1) digital health, well-being and fitness; (2) digital education; (3) security, privacy & theft; (4) convergence and connectivity solutions; (5) digital finance; (6) mobile operators and consumers; (7) battery management; and (8) new experiences in social networks. The submitted proposals will be evaluated by a specialized panel formed by Samsung, Anprotec and the selected incubators.

Incubators

The companies selected in this round will be invited to incubate their projects for the duration of the Program, in one of the 12 pre-selected incubators throughout the country. Enterprises from regions and municipalities other than the incubators' regions can also compete and, if selected, will be transferred to an incubator recommended by the program's management committee during the incubation period.
