O Dassault Systèmes 3DEXPERIENCE Laboratory announces several initiatives with startups and manufacturers to quickly respond to urgent unmet needs in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiatives leverage collective and collaborative intelligence on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform to quickly obtain, qualify, design, design and manufacture solutions that can solve problems and benefit local hospitals. Initiatives include:

More effective startup acceleration with data intelligence: An exclusive 3DEXPERIENCE Lab committee was established in record time to validate startups around the world focused on developing COVID-19-related solutions for a more effective acceleration program. The startups were selected using data intelligence panels on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform and on the laboratory's incubator partner network. They gained access to collaborative engineering applications on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, marketplace services for manufacturing, and guidance from experts at Dassault Systèmes and the 3DEXPERIENCE Lab community to rapidly develop their solutions.

Cost-effective innovation to reduce product complexity and costs: Engineers, designers, manufacturers, scientists, makers and fabbers (small manufacturers with great knowledge of 3D printing) from the United States, United Kingdom, India, France and the Netherlands – and soon other countries, are using the 3DEXPERIENCE platform in an effort collaborative to develop solutions that can solve critical problems of this unprecedented current health crisis, such as 3D printing of spare parts or rapid design for the manufacture of masks or ventilators for local hospitals. Design projects are shared as 3D models on the platform and are engineered by industry experts, healthcare professionals and medical scientists.

Open design around the world: Dassault Systèmes sponsors open challenges worldwide and supports designers and engineers by providing the SOLIDWORKSxDesign online environment to help them quickly develop solutions. SIMULIA application specialists collaborate with scientists to run simulations on projects such as fans or masks to validate their efficiency. The first open challenges supported include the OpenSourceVentilator (Open Source Ventilator) and the Montreal Code Life Challenges.

Connecting people, projects and production: The 3DEXPERIENCE platform provides global mapping of hospitals, factories and fab labs to connect people and projects to local production. Access to the 3DEXPERIENCE Marketplace enables online production management and collaboration between professional engineers and manufacturers to rapidly produce curated design concepts to meet local hospital needs.
