The company was one of the three finalists of the Startup Awards in the Corporate category

 

THE Softplan, one of the main software development companies in Brazil and a pioneer in the IT ecosystem of Santa Catarina, was one of the finalists in the category corporate of Startup Awards, in the 2018 edition, an initiative promoted by the Brazilian Startups Association (Abstartups).
 
The company was nominated because of its activities in Corporate Venture, a global trend that offers competitive advantages for both startups and large companies. The modality consists of a resource to stimulate innovation, through which larger enterprises finance the digital transformation promoted by nascent businesses with the support of the sales force, channels, brand and business knowledge.
 
According to data from a search promoted by Altivia Ventures and disclosed by the Brazilian Association of Information and Communication Technology Companies (Brasscom), by 2017 a total of 87 large companies in Brazil, national and/or with foreign capital, were developing Corporate Venture to stimulate open innovation.
 
Due to its pioneering spirit in the market for 28 years, Softplan constantly seeks to renew itself, promoting actions in its three business units: justice, public management and the construction industry. In this last business unit, an arm called Construtech Ventures, whose operation of Corporate Venture is geared towards construction. Among the invested startups, it can be cited as a highlight the Quote Here, a platform specialized in the quotation of construction material for construction companies.
 
Other initiatives in the area of Justice and Public Management — Reference in several spheres of the public sector, Softplan also supports other actions of Corporate Venture in its justice and public management units. These include investments in startups HubMedi.co, WeGov and 1Doc. HubMedi.co is a platform that connects radiologists to diagnostic centers, allowing these specialists to work without geographic restrictions. WeGov, in turn, aims to empower and promote inter-institutional approximation between public agents, in addition to illuminating ideas and actions that can be replicated in all spheres and powers. Finally, 1Doc developed a digital communication, service and document management platform for public bodies, connecting secretariats, municipalities and departments to taxpayers and citizens.
 
Featured in national awards such as the Startup Awards, the initiatives to Corporate Venture started to fill a bottleneck of organizations in the search for innovation and excellence in the delivery of products and services. “We know today that the survival of established companies depends on the constant transformation of their products, services and business models. To boost the innovation program, in addition to doing it internally, it is necessary to open up to the open innovation.
