Worldwide startup competition offers up to US$ 5 million in prizes. Registrations are now open.

Ingram Micro Brasil, a subsidiary of one of the main global IT distributors, announces that it is bringing to the country the Comet Competition, a global competition aimed at identifying innovative and revolutionary business-to-business (B2B) software developers that have application for of technology. The Brazilian edition of the competition is part of a series of 16 competitions on 5 continents around the world that will award a total of US$ 5 million in cash and Go to Market shares, as well as funding to 64 independent software providers (ISVs).

All startups with B2B solutions are invited to register for the Comet Competition. In each of the 16 regional competitions, Ingram Micro will award one winner and 3 runners-up. Winners will receive US$ 100,000 in market entry funding and a chance to compete for US$ 1 million in cash at Ingram Micro's Cloud Summit in Miami, Florida, May 12-14, 2020. Each runner-up will receive US$ 50k in market entry financing. Ingram Micro will not require any investment from the winning companies or payments from the finalists.

Last year's Comet Competition winner, Pixm's Arun Buduri, has seen the impacts of exposure and earned resources. “The year after winning the competition has been a total blessing,” explains Buduri. “They were able to put our three-person team ahead of thousands of potential customers, while reducing our acquisition costs to almost zero. So we couldn't ask for a better partner than Ingram Micro. I like to say that the Comet was the 'nuclear fuel' for our business.” Pixm is the first product in its cybersecurity line that leverages Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning and computer vision to detect phishing attacks in real time.

Startups interested in participating in the competition in Brazil can now register through the link on the website and submit their registration until September 30th. The event with the announcement of the winners is scheduled to take place between October 21st and 22nd, in São Paulo-SP.

To be eligible for the award, startups must meet certain requirements, such as: having less than US$ 10 million in revenue in the last 12 months and a business-to-business business model.
