Document reinforces competencies in the destruction and erasure of data and certifies that the company complies with rigorous global processes related to information security
Ingram Micro Brasil, a subsidiary of one of the main global distributors of IT solutions and services, has just received the NAID AAA Certification®, recognition issued by i-SIGMA (International Secure Information Governance & Management Association). The document endorses that the company follows the best practices and security processes in protecting data from discarded equipment.
“We are proud of the recognition given by such a reputable international organization, which gives even more credibility to our program”, says Guilherme Barreiro, director of the BRLink and Services business unit at Ingram Micro. “The certificate attests to the quality of Ingram Micro’s services in the destruction and erasure of data and guarantees that we comply with the highest and most rigorous global information security processes.”
The i-SIGMA certification, formerly National Information Destruction Association (NAID), is based on a rigorous set of principles in the handling and recycling of data-containing devices, as well as adherence to the highest security and ethical standards in the information destruction industry.
Recognition is achieved and maintained through a continuous series of audits of service providers, including at the evaluated company's facilities and in the field in which it operates. In accordance with i-SIGMA regulations, these inspections are conducted by independent, trained auditors, all accredited by ASIS International as certified safeguarding professionals. Companies that undergo the assessment prove their ongoing commitment to secure data destruction and undergo annual unplanned audits to prove their consistency in this practice.
Among the benefits of obtaining NAID AAA certification is the company's accreditation by proving the quality and security of its data destruction methods. “The NAID AAA certification is widely accepted, both by manufacturers, who use recycled materials in their products, and by consumers who will use these materials”, highlights Barreiro. “It represents a safe way for clients to assess the qualifications of their service providers in this regard.”
“Ingram Micro has met the rigorous requirements of the NAID AAA certification program and has demonstrated, through announced and unannounced audits, that its processes, procedures, systems, equipment and safety training meet the standards of care required by all industry regulations. protection of known data”, wrote Nathan Campbell, Chief Executive Officer of i-SIGMA, responsible for issuing the certificate.
