Indra and Intel signed, on July 1st, in Spain, a partnership for the development of joint solutions for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Industrial Internet (II) for customers in the energy sector around the world. The initiative contemplates the creation of an innovative Smart Energy offer, based on new Intel processor families and Indra gateways.

In practice, Indra will incorporate Intel Quark and Intel Atom processors in its inGrid.Node#1 gateways, as well as Intel's software platform to manage IoT and II devices. Intel's technology will enable the provision of services with higher performance and capacity with lower consumption and cost in Smart Home, Smart Metering, Smart Grids, Energy Services and Active Demand Management.

With this partnership, Indra completes the development of its powerful IoT frameworks (SOFIA2 www.sofia2.com) and Power-II (InGRID and iSPEED), on which the Advanced Distribution Grid Management System (InGRID. ADMS), which allows optimizing the operation of distribution networks and their evolution to the Smart Grids model, in addition to other specific solutions for energy services.

In turn, Intel expands its access to energy sector customers with specific solutions for this business. The company thus reinforces its ecosystem of integrators, manufacturers and providers of final solutions in the different sectors of activity in which it intends to boost its presence.

For the development of the agreement, coordinated actions will be established from Intel's IoT laboratory and Indra's Watergy Lab.
