(ISC)², the world's leading institute focused on education and certifications for Information Security and Cybersecurity professionals, announces that it is receiving nominations for the VII Annual Americas ISLA Awards for Leadership in Information Security. Nominations can be made through the website http://congress.isc2.org/d/fvqzc6/6K until June 7 and the awards will take place during the (ISC)² Security Congress 2017 in Austin (United States) on September 26 .

ISLA Americas is part of the (ISC)² Global Awards Program and recognizes improvements in the Information Security workforce, projects and initiatives in the public and private sectors of the Americas (with the exception of the Federal Government of the United States) in the categories "Senior Information Security Professional", "Junior Information Security Professional", "Outstanding Information Security Professional" and "Community Awareness".

"Our Global Workforce Study indicates that by 2022, the world market will be short of 1.8 million Information Security professionals. This shortage makes it even more important to recognize professionals who are excelling despite immense challenges. These leaders are committed to enhancing the cybersecurity workforce, which also improves the security posture of their organizations. In addition, these professionals help raise awareness among end users in their communities," explains David Shearer, CEO of ( ISC)².

The ISLA Americas Award Evaluation Committee will be composed of members of the (ISC)² Advisory Boards of North and Latin America, award-winning professionals from previous years and other experts in the Information Security industry. Each Committee member will review the nominations and the panel of judges will select a winner for each category based on selection and eligibility criteria.
