Startups can apply until October 10th
Technology-based nascent companies can present their business projects until October 10, 2014 to participate in the new selection process for MIDI Tecnológico (http://www.miditecnologico.com.br/), an incubator managed by the Associação Catarinenses de Empresas of Technology (ACATE) and maintained by Sebrae/SC. The announcement, launched on September 5th, provides for the offer of up to nine vacancies for the resident modality, according to which companies will be installed at the Innovation Center ACATE – Primavera, at SC 401, in Florianópolis.
For the incubator's technical coordinator, Kamila Bittarello, the differential of this new selection process will be training for potential entrepreneurs, which will be held on September 24th. “By means of a workshop, we want to support the qualification of projects before their presentation and clarify doubts about the selection process”, he explains. To participate in the training, entrepreneurs must register online.
Enrollment in the selection process must be done through an online form. Proposals may be submitted by individuals or legal entities, individually or in partnership. It is not necessary for the company to be formally constituted until the proposal is submitted. It is estimated that the approved projects will start incubation in January 2015.
The selection process
It consists of three stages: project description, interview and final assessment of the business model. Companies that are not approved for the resident incubation may be invited to the pre-incubation process or to the virtual incubation modality.
Pre-incubation is aimed at validating the idea, focused on planning, setting up the company, defining the business model, analyzing the entrepreneur's profile and technical and economic viability. In virtual incubation, companies do not physically install themselves on the incubator's premises, but have access to all the services and benefits offered, such as membership in ACATE, participation in Business Verticals, specialized consulting services, etc.
