Executive takes position to create global data protection strategy

Brazil is less than a year away from implementing the LGPD, the General Data Protection Law, and facing so many challenges that the new regulation requires, In Loco announces a new structure for the area responsible for data protection with the creation of an exclusive legal team for the matter within the cybersecurity and infrastructure technical team.

To lead the new team, Raissa Moura, a lawyer who until recently was responsible for the legal area of In Loco, assumes the position of Legal Data Protection Manager, and starts reporting directly to the CSO (Chief Security Officer) and co-founder of In Loco, Lucas Queiroz.

He will be responsible for creating the company's global strategy for compliance with data protection and consumer privacy laws and structuring the team that was born with newly hired lawyer Daniela Cabella, senior analyst for data protection and privacy , law intern Lara Ferraz, in addition to the support of consultants specialized in the subject. 

"The new world reality on the issue of data protection will require companies to be rigorously assertive, agile and aligned in ethical and legal issues related to the subject", explains Lucas Queiroz, CSO of In Loco, who adds: "We have reached the conclusion of that the most efficient way for us to act was to unite legal and technical knowledge in a single team". 

The challenges of the team that Raissa Moura is putting together in São Paulo and Recife go far beyond the LGPD. In Loco, which in June received a contribution of R$ 80 million, is already operating in the United States and should soon go to other markets. In the new structure, the area will act on four pillars: Strategy in Privacy, Compliance, Advocacy and Institutional Relations.
