Luciano Ramos will be a speaker at the ABES Software Conference

The current scenario and projections for the Brazilian Information Technology market will be addressed in the presentation by Luciano Ramos, Research and Consulting manager at IDC (International Data Corporation), on the panel "Present and Future", during the ABES Software Conference, which takes place on September 18 at the WTC, in São Paulo.

"In our conversation during the ABES event, I intend to talk about the Brazilian software and services market and how we have evolved here in the country in terms of consumption of these technologies and what we expect for the end of 2017 and for 2018", advances the IDC executive (see the video).

According to Ramos, the idea is to rescue what was projected for the year 2017 and assess how the IT segments have been performing in the first two semesters so far and the projections for the coming months, highlighting the new topics introduced in the Market Study Brasileiro de Software e Serviços 2017, produced by the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) in partnership with IDC.

“In the 2017 edition of the study, we opened space to analyze the evolution of data on third platform and mobility, adoption of analytics tools and the movement of companies through the hiring of PaaS and SaaS services, which were not included in previous publications. Perspectives for the coming months are positive, given the conversations we had with key executives. Brazil is going through a process of acceleration in the adoption of cloud services, a segment that has grown around 20% year on year, and we have also observed a significant acceleration in the adoption of cloud infrastructure”, he commented.

Ramos also assesses that artificial intelligence, cognitive computing, voice and image recognition are emerging and expanding technologies in Brazil, and the market has collected several success stories. In addition, hacker attacks, such as Wanna Cry, and migration to the cloud are two factors that are driving investments in information and data security.

“Brazil should grow in its position in the world ranking of investments in IT and Telecom. The 2016 position is more related to the devaluation of the real against the dollar than to the strength of the Brazilian market, which continues to expand and attract investments”, he concludes.

Mediated by Daniela Braun, director of Weber Shandwickd, the panel “Present and Future” will also feature the participation of Francisco Camargo, president of ABES, and CBN Radio journalist, Cristina de Luca.
