IBM and Finch Soluções, a technology company for the automation of legal processes, have developed and will offer the "Legal Cognitive" platform to the entire judicial market, a platform that supports professionals in the field in document analysis, generating intelligent information, reducing time and increasing the efficiency of the investigation of cases to be judged.
 
The solution was created using IBM Watson Analytics technology and all of Finch's expertise and intelligence components in the legal sector. With it, it is possible to semantically analyze the entire content of a legal document and, based on this data, make analysis of probabilities, comparisons with the contents of simulated actions, jurisprudential trends and evaluation of fraud situations, among other needs that occur within a lawsuit. The proposal is for the platform to support law firms and legal departments of companies and the entire market, functioning as a kind of virtual assistant that makes the entire process of action faster and more effective.
 
According to the executive director of Finch Soluções, Armando Buchina, the system can read and understand legal documents and present analyzes with relevant, concrete and objective information. “Using the platform, a lawyer or legal manager will be able to create more appropriate sector strategies, such as agreements or defenses against litigation or simply understand the reason why actions are being judged as valid (gain) or unfounded (loss) before the judge or region”, explains Buchina.
 
The IBM Brazil Analytics leader, Paschoal D'Auria, explains that the solution was built under global IBM standards. “This platform has allowed us to broadly exploit the attributes of our Analytics technology. We even take advantage of IBM Watson's cognitive intelligence and validate all aspects of security and robustness that the legal sector needs”, he says. The solution is already available on the market and has the technical components of IBM Cognos Analytics (complete BI solution), IBM Case Manager (manages cases by integrating information, processes and people) and IBM Datacap (for document capture and data extraction). for improved information management), plus a pre-built application and data analytics capabilities from Finch.
 
Finch Soluções has extensive experience in the legal sector, as it was born from a spin-off in the technology area of two major law firms in the country. In addition to the Artificial Intelligence solution with IBM, it has specific solutions for the legal world, such as Process Control Systems, automation with electronic processes for all Brazilian courts and support services in the BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) model, such as of due diligence, registrations, digitization, among others.
