In line with the global strategy, IBM Brasil created the Soluções Brasil business unit, which includes five strategic imperatives of the company – Cognitive Computing, Security, Analytics, Mobility and Social.
 
The new organization will be led by Marcelo Braga, who assumes the position of Vice President of Solutions at IBM Brazil. Braga was responsible for the software area and has been at IBM for 19 years. He has extensive experience in planning and defining strategies for relationship and sales of information technology solutions to corporate clients, especially in the public and financial sectors. Graduated and post-graduated in Information Technology, he also holds an Executive MBA from Fundação Dom Cabral, an MBA in Marketing from ESPM and an MBA in Management from IBMEC.
 
Within the Solutions hub, the Watson area – which represents the Cognitive Computing imperative – will be led by Guilherme Araújo. The executive will lead the adoption of IBM's cognitive services platform. Araújo was the Security leader in Brazil. He started his career in the financial market as a derivatives trader and worked for six years at IBM Brasil, where he held different management positions in the infrastructure area. Before returning to the company about a year ago, he was a partner in a Cloud Services startup and worked at BMC Software in leadership positions in Latin America. He holds a degree in business administration from FGV-SP, with a postgraduate degree in IT Management and an MBA in sales management.
 
João Paulo Lara Rocha takes over the Security area at IBM Brazil. Rocha brings in his baggage great experience in the sector, where he has worked for over 17 years. Previously, he led IBM's identity and access management offerings in Latin America, supporting business demands and regulatory compliance. He holds a degree in Data Processing from Cesubra (Planalto University Center of the Federal District), a postgraduate degree in Computer Network Security and a Masters in Knowledge Management and Information Technology from the Catholic University of Brasília.
 
The Watson Customer Engagement area – which encompasses the imperative of mobility – will be headed by Claudio Santos. Previously, the executive served as director of clients. Santos has been with IBM for 19 years and has a deep knowledge of the retail market. He holds a degree in administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas with an MBA in retail from FIA/USP, in addition to having participated in the Business Insight Program at Harvard University, in the United States. He also has a specialization in Financial Management and Retail from the University of Bocconi, Italy.
 
The Analytics and Collaboration Solutions areas – in the Social pillar – continue to be led by executives Paschoal D'Auria and Sidney Sossai, respectively.
