IBM announces the opening of registration for the Smarter Cities Challenge 2015 project, the company's worldwide program that aims to assist in the socio-economic development of cities and train global leaders.

To participate in the initiative, interested parties need to register through the website www.smartercitieschallenge.org  until February 6th and present projects in areas that involve improving the quality of life and economic development of a given municipality.

The winning city will receive a team of IBM executives, from different nationalities and areas of activity, who will stay for about a month in the region working on municipal projects, contributing experience, knowledge and practice on critical issues.

There are three months of training, in which these professionals have the opportunity to become familiar with the culture, political and socioeconomic reality of the region. Studying the indicated problems in depth and contributing to the city being able to deal with the main challenges in the areas of economic development, water, energy and environment, social and health services, transport and public safety are part of the mission of these executives.
