Honeywell Building Solutions has incorporated HID technology into its new mobile access solution to transform the work environment. The Honeywell Vector Occupant App tool transforms the building occupants' working environment into a convenient and connected experience within its facilities. The main feature of the new solution is to make it possible for people to use mobile devices for secure access without a card, either for a single area or entire installations of a building or in different locations around the world.

"HID Global shares a commitment to Honeywell to deliver a more satisfying, mobile-centric experience in smart buildings," said Harm Radstaak, vice president and managing director of the Physical Access Control Solutions business at HID Global. "We are looking forward to exploring new opportunities with Honeywell and aim to extend the benefits of using trusted identities on mobile devices for a variety of services and applications in buildings," said the executive.

Honeywell used custom testing and integration workshops offered through HID Professional Services, along with HID Seos credential technology and application SDKs, to create the personalized mobile access solution for users. The solution features HID Global's patented 'Twist and Go' gesture technology to open doors remotely using a smartphone.

Working independently of the building's underlying systems, the app also includes HID Global's mobile access system to optimize the management of trusted IDs for building administrators. The app's technology supports mobile credentials, giving building managers more control over credential transactions.
