Hexagon, metrology systems, design and visualization solutions, announced the acquisition of Arvus, a Brazilian company that develops precision agriculture products in Brazil.
 
The acquisition of Arvus is a key strategic step in the development of the European company's smart agriculture solutions. Arvus will further expand Hexagon's current actions in agriculture, complementing its worldwide geoprocessing and machine control solutions. The technologies and know-how of each company can be integrated to create competitive solutions in the world market.
 
“Along with our current presence in agribusiness, the acquisition of Arvus will help lead the way in market and product development, enabling Hexagon to offer a suite of innovative solutions for productivity increases, waste reduction and process optimization. and agricultural resources,” according to Ola Rollén, President and CEO of Hexagon AB.
 
Headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, Hexagon currently has more than 14,000 employees in 40 countries and annual revenues of €2.4 billion. Hexagon has acquired 115 companies in multiple countries over the past 10 years and has built a vast portfolio of technologies that serve virtually every industry sector, including agribusiness. Examples of group companies are: Leica Geosystems, NovAtel, Intergraph, Sisgraph and Devex.
 
Headquartered in Florianópolis-SC, Arvus is present in all agricultural regions of Brazil, in the grain, sugar-energy and forestry markets. The company has a complete portfolio of electronic equipment and software for precision agriculture.
 
Current Arvus managers will continue to lead the company's operations. Completion of the transaction is subject to approval by regulatory agencies and other customary closing conditions.
