The city of Rio de Janeiro will host, from May 26 to 28, 2017, Hacking Health, a global movement that brings together professionals from the areas of health, technology, design and entrepreneurship in a hackathon to think and create solutions for the health system . Created in Canada in 2012, Hacking Health is present in more than 21 countries and has already generated more than 650 projects and solutions to improve health conditions in the places where it operates.

In Rio de Janeiro, Hacking Health Rio (HH Rio) in its 1st edition will take place at Nave do Conhecimento, in Engenho de Dentro, North Zone of Rio. The event is free and registration is open, with limited spaces, at http://hackinghealth.ca/city/rio-de-janeiro-brazil/.
 
Hacking Health arrived in Brazil in 2016, with editions already held in Ribeirão Preto (SP), Londrina (PR) and Joinvile (SC). In Rio de Janeiro, the proposal is to bring together, in three days, experts and enthusiasts to break the barriers in innovation in the areas of public health, health in the workplace, solutions for the entrepreneur in the health area and health in sport. In the hackaton, it will be possible to build prototypes of the elaborated ideas and present them to a panel of specialists, investors, partners and supporters who will evaluate them as possible businesses to be developed and applied in society.

Hacking Health in Brazil – awarded cases
 
The first Hacking Health in Brazil took place in 2016 in Ribeirão Preto, in the interior of São Paulo, and the winning solution was the “Super Mãe” app, where mothers earn points by performing routines related to the health of their children that can be exchanged for products or services. discounts at partner stores. In this way, the solution acts as a disease prevention tool.
 
In addition to São Paulo, the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina have already hosted Hacking Health marathons. In Londrina (PR), the winner of the hackathon was a project that created a device capable of measuring the inclination of the spine and crossing the information with other data, such as time and pain indicators. The objective is to help occupational medicine. In the city of Joinville, in Santa Catarina, all the projects presented focused on the prevention or monitoring of diabetes. The winning project was “Meu pé” (My foot), which monitors the patient through photos and personalized questionnaires.
