IBM Brasil and Flextronics create mobile laboratory for training young people

IBM Brasil and Flextronics, in partnership with Instituto de Pesquisas Eldorado and in collaboration with Apple, have just inaugurated the Hackatruck project, an itinerant laboratory that aims to train students from higher education institutions of Information Technology in SWIFT programming to iOS platform. So far, 11 institutions, distributed across different regions of Brazil, participate in the initiative, which aims to train 500 students over 10 months. PUC-Campinas is the first university to receive the project.

The mobile digital lab features state-of-the-art classrooms, devices and applications stored in the IBM cloud. Inside the truck, instructors from Instituto Eldorado will develop professional training activities, focusing on the SWIFT language for iOS. In addition to the course, participants will have the opportunity to follow workshops on startups and entrepreneurship and will have contact with technological innovations such as 3D printers and augmented reality glasses, for example.

After Campinas, the Hackatruck will pass through São Paulo, Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, Sorocaba, Recife, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, São José dos Campos and Brasília (check the website for the full itinerary). It will be three weeks in each of the partner higher education institutions training 28 students per period (morning and afternoon), in four hours of course per day, totaling 60 hours. At the end, students will receive a certificate of participation. Students must take an EAD test to enroll in the course.
