Representatives of major global brands of Information Technology will discuss trends in products, services and business modalities for the coming years at the 20th edition of the World IT Congress – WCIT Brasil 2016, which will take place in Brasília, from October 3rd to 5th. Opportunities and challenges for the sector will be the main theme of the plenary sessions, which will also feature the presence of businessmen, government authorities and industry personalities.
 
Topics on trade, contracts, partnerships and the growth of the IT industry will permeate all the event's activities, which are concentrated on lectures and debates, business roundtables, networking and exhibition.
 
Dell Services Vice President and General Manager George Newstrom will address “Government Market in the Digital Age”. The presentation will detail the forms of trade between private and public initiative.
 
The topic will be addressed in a more specific way by the expert in ICT Policies at the World Bank, Randeep Sudan, who will talk about public-private partnerships, solutions related to the creation of infrastructure, broadband, funds for this and other topics. The plenary in question will have the participation of representatives of the market in Brazil and the USA.
 
The Senior Director of Information Technology and Telecommunications at the World Economic Forum, Alan Marcus, will point out the growth prospects from the point of view of the managers of the companies in the field. Alan will be the moderator of the debate on connectivity in the world and the status of the global scenario.
 
Also present will be Torbjörn Fredriksson, Director of ICT Analysis at the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); Alfredo Suescum, Ambassador of Panama and the country's representative at the World Trade Organization; Professor Anupam Chander, Director of the California International Law Center and Martin Luther King, Jr.; Alex Mora, Minister of Foreign Trade of Costa Rica; Hanne Melin, EMEA Director of Public Policy at eBay Lab).
 
The Congress will also have the participation of Vice President and Chief Evangelist of Internet at Google, Vint Cerf, considered the father of the internet for being the co-creator of the TCP/IP protocols for online data transmission. In addition to the company's perspective, Cerf will comment on relevant facts about his career as a successful IT personality.
 
Investments and incentives
 
As well as national and international businesses, the conditions for growth of companies will be the subject of discussions at the Brazilian IT Congress. With the presence of several ministers of State and experts on the subject, the plenary sessions will enable solutions to be found to encourage the industry through the prioritization of the sector in public policies and the strengthening of the national ICT digital agenda.
