The federal government decided to modify the Digital Bookkeeping System for Tax, Social Security and Labor Obligations (eSocial). The decision was announced this Tuesday (7/9) by the special secretaries of the Ministry of Economy Rogério Marinho (Welfare and Labour) and Carlos da Costa (Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness) and by the rapporteur of the Provisional Measure of Economic Freedom in Congress, deputy Jerônimo Goergen (PP-RS).

The goal is to simplify the day-to-day of the employer and, consequently, stimulate the generation of jobs. “eSocial will be replaced by a much simpler system in 2020. We are going to simplify, reduce bureaucracy and allow the State and the employer to come together to generate growth”, said Rogério Marinho. The modernization and simplification of the tool was decided after discussions and consultations with different sectors of society.

?During the debate period, the government received 119 suggestions to improve the eSocial system. Of these, 84% were met. There will be a strong reduction in the number of data to be informed by the employer. This will be possible because the new system will obtain and cross-reference information that already exists in other databases, such as voter registration, National Driver's License and identity record.

The Calendar approved by the eSocial management committee provides that all changes to the system will come into operation by the first quarter of 2020. The Special Secretariat for Social Security is responsible for managing eSocial and is also part of the system's management committee, together the special secretariats of the Federal Revenue, Productivity, Employment and Competitiveness and Debureaucratization, Management and Digital Government, in addition to the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).?
