Program helps micro and small businesses with special credit during the new coronavirus pandemic

The National Program to Support Micro and Small Businesses was extended for another three months (pronampe). This Wednesday (19), the federal government released a concierge establishing the new date, since, according to the old text, Pronampe would end on August 19th.

The government's justification for the extension is that "there is still a demand for credit from micro and small businesses to maintain their economic activities," according to Agência Brasil.

According to the ordinance, the extension takes place after authorization from the National Congress to grant an additional contribution of R$ 12 billion in the Operations Guarantee Fund (FGO), intended for the granting of guarantees within the scope of Pronampe.

Covid-19: Municipalities face difficulty in meeting personnel spending limit

Sanctioned in May, the law who created Pronampe initially opened special credit worth around R$ 16 billion, but the money ran out quickly. The goal now is to guarantee resources for small businesses and keep jobs during the new coronavirus pandemic in the country.

With Pronampe, according to the text, micro and small entrepreneurs can apply for loans corresponding to up to 30% of their gross revenue obtained in 2019. If the company has been operating for less than one year, the loan limit will be up to 50% of its share capital or up to 30% of the average monthly billing calculated since the beginning of activities.
