Projects with social, environmental and technological impact will be prioritized

The guidelines of the National Program to Support the Generation of Innovative Enterprises, the Centelha Program, were published in the Official Gazette (DOU) this Monday (13). The project aims to train entrepreneurs focused on innovation in the national territory.

According to the text, the Centelha Program should encourage the involvement of entrepreneurs, students and researchers from Brazilian Science, Technology and Innovation Institutions (ICTs). In addition, it must be carried out in partnership with state or district governments, preferably through the State Research Support Foundations (FAPs).

According to the program's rules, innovative ventures with social, environmental and technological impact will have priority. The project will be included in the agendas of national and state science, technology and innovation policies, maintaining a periodicity.

The Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications (MCTIC) is responsible for coordinating and improving the program's implementation strategies, together with the assistance of an Advisory Committee for the Centelha Program, which is yet to be created.

Financial support from the MCTIC and the federal funding agencies will be through the transfer of economic subsidy resources and the granting of grants for the development of projects. The proposal must be approved in a public call launched by the Financier of Innovation and Research (Finep), and registration will be free.
