The initiative is part of a set of actions initiated in 2015 by the industry and aims to find technological solutions that are capable of reducing costs and increasing efficiency in the company's processes.

Coke and Forestry Challenges

The first challenge aims to increase the yield of coke, a type of mineral coal essential for blast furnace operations, through solutions that avoid overflow and material degradation during the journey, in addition to making the separation of rock into different granularities more efficient. .

The second challenge aims to find solutions for volumetric measurements and calculations of wood in eucalyptus forests. The idea is to find projects that provide speed, precision and cost reduction in the processes responsible for the production of bioreducer (charcoal).

As benefits to classifieds, Gerdau offers mentoring, access to the structure, possibility of investment, working together, among others.
To register and have access to other information, interested parties must access the website www.gerdauchallenge.com.br. The selection will be open until the 11th of May for startups from all over Brazil.
