Visual and video technologies are becoming increasingly important for people to interact, according to Gartner, a world leader in technology research and advice, which predicts that by 2017, live video streams will be the new 'selfie'. ' and recommends that product managers start creating a 'visual' strategy right away to integrate this trend.
 
“The next generation of customer services and products has one subject: video,” says Brian Blau, Research Director at Gartner. "This means embedding live video, or other real-time technologies, into products to engage users at events and enable more personalized communications, providing greater customer support and delivering the best video and TV experiences for the connected home."
