According to the study, cloud solutions are increasingly viable

Gartner, a world leader in technology research and advice, will present at the IT Infrastructure, Operations and Data Center Conference, to be held April 7-8, the study “Shifting to Digital Leadership: The CIO Agenda for 2015 ”. The survey surveyed more than 2,800 CIOs who are responsible for managing US$ 397 billion in IT spend and US$ 202.5 billion in IT Infrastructure and Operations (I&O) spend.

“Study results show that for most CIOs, cloud solutions are increasingly useful for IT projects, but they are not the first option to consider,” says Dave Russell, vice president and distinguished analyst. from Gartner. According to him, I&O leaders tend to protect their infrastructures within each and, in many cases, this represents a major obstacle to the adoption of cloud-based solutions. “Often, professionals resort to 'cloudwashing' as an excuse for not looking for a true all-in-one solution that fully meets the needs of companies. Instead, they should institute 'Cloud first choice' attention to all projects on an application-by-application basis,” says the analyst.

Also according to the study, almost half of the CIOs interviewed consider the cloud a viable option, but 9% still do not plan to use it even for SaaS (software as a service) projects and 15% should not even use it in IaaS (infrastructure as a service) projects. ).

The study also found that 71% CIOs feel a growing need for context-sensitive services. For I&O leaders, this means that mobility must be a critical concern in systems design and that just delivering a service on mobile devices is no longer enough.
