MCTIC and BNDES will disclose the National IoT Plan on October 3

 

The 19th edition of futurecom, one of the main Telecommunications, IT and Internet events in Latin America, which takes place from October 2nd to 5th at the Transamerica Expo Center, in São Paulo, will bring a series of novelties, such as a space of more than 200 m2 dedicated to demonstrations Internet of Things (IoT) in various sectors: Agriculture, Connected Cars, Smart Cities, Retail, Industry 4.0, Healthcare, among others. The event has institutional support from ABES.
 
At Futurecom, the first public and press presentation of the National IoT Plan will take place, at 9 am on October 3, when the consortium selected by MCTIC and BNDES, led by consultancy McKinsey & Company – with the participation of Fundação CPqD and the office Pereira Neto/Macedo – will present in detail the policies, the action plan and the strategies for implementing the technologies that will connect devices and equipment.
 
For the application of the National IoT Plan, the institutions involved carried out preliminary studies that identified four priority verticals to receive the first services aimed at the population's quality of life and sustainable development through technology. They are Cities, Health, Agribusiness and Industry. The plan foresees that these policies will be applied in the period between 2018 and 2022. In Brazil, the IoT market moved US$ 4.1 billion in 2016 alone, according to a study by the Brazilian Association of Software Companies (ABES) in partnership with IDC .

In addition to the space dedicated to the Internet of Things, Futurecom will have a guided tour to some of the stands that will bring news on the subject and on 5G technology, which will allow visitors to learn about solutions they are not yet familiar with. As part of the search for constant innovation, the event will also promote the DemoDay Startup Session, a session of Design Thinking free and the Hackathon “Streets 2.0”, in which companies will have the opportunity to meet new talents and expand their possibilities of action.

Considered the “heart” of the event, the International Congress allows the meeting and exchange of experiences and knowledge between experts in the ICT ecosystem. In this 19th edition, the theme “Inspiring Innovation” will permeate not only the content of the panels, but also a differentiated structure with three open auditoriums bringing lectures, case studies and workshops of free access to Futurecom participants; two exclusive auditoriums for debate panels with discussions relevant to the sector and the main auditorium, which will feature national and international Keynotes, in addition to panels with C Level executives on Big Data, Smart Cities, 5G, IoT, regulatory policies, cognitive technology and Machine Learning, era of experience through the democratization of content and cybersecurity.
