Entrepreneurs can apply until June 9 to participate in the selection

In order to encourage entrepreneurs in the education area, the Lemann Foundation opens registration for yet another Start-Ed modality, the Start-Ed Lab. The category will give financial support of R$ 20 thousand to startups that have innovative projects in the education area.

Those selected will also receive training and guidance focused on the challenges of education in Brazil, as well as interactions with professionals and experts in the sector. Interested parties can apply via the link: goo.gl/qqyT6T until the 9th of June.

The Start-Ed Lab aims to foster partnerships and stimulate new initiatives for the development of education in the country, encouraging high potential entrepreneurs. It is not necessary to have a public company, but participants need to have a solution proposal, in addition to a team formed and willing to transform it into a final product. If the idea has already become a product, it can only be on the market for a maximum of a year and a half.

The selection process will be divided into three stages. The first phase consists of an analysis of applications, which will evaluate teams according to their competencies, experiences, product proposals, business models and potential for impact. Then, there will be an interview with the Lemann Foundation to present the teams and, in the third and final stage, the entrepreneurs will present their teams and solutions to a panel of experts.

The Start-Ed Lab will last six months, with six monthly meetings lasting two consecutive days, from July to December 2014. Workshops on entrepreneurship and new business development, mentoring program (coaching) will be offered to product validation, visits to schools and startups, participation in industry events and space for interaction, exchange of ideas and feedback with experts.
