THE Business Front in Defense of the General Data Protection and Legal Security Law, of which ABES is one of the main articulators, promoted on Monday (14/09) the launch of a new open letter on the theme and the webinar “Economic Development and the Future of LGPD”. The moderation of the event was carried out by Andriei Gutierrez, coordinator of the Regulatory Committee of ABES.

Launched in August 2020, the front has among its pillars: the effective creation of the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD), with the indication of names with the appropriate technicality; the vote on PEC 17/2019, which establishes the protection of personal data as a citizen's right, establishing the Union's private competence to legislate on the subject.

The new letter in defense of the General Data Protection Law and for legal security highlights: “The regulation of the protection of personal data is an issue that affects the entire Brazilian society and, in particular, all economic sectors in the country, be it handling personal data of customers, business partners or labor management. The institutionalization and constitutionalization of the theme is urgent through the effective creation of the ANPD and the approval of the PEC 17 ”. Check the full document here.
