On Monday (21/09), the Business Front in Defense of the LGPD and for Legal Security held the second live, broadcast by Youtube, with the objective of discussing the economic development and the future of the general data protection law, in addition to expanding the dissemination of the open letter signed by dozens of entities representing various economic sectors, such as technology, health, commerce and communication.

The live was attended by the following authorities: Senators Eduardo Gomes (MDB-TO) and Izalci Lucas (PSDB-DF); by Congresswoman Ângela Amin (PP-SC), by the director of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), José Gontijo, and by the director of Telecommunications Services (MiniCom), Miriam Wimmer. The moderation of the debates was carried out by Andriei Gutierrez, coordinator of the ABES Regulatory Committee.

Also attended by presidents and representatives of entities that make up the LGPD Front: Rodolfo Fücher, president of ABES; Julien Dutra, Institutional Relations of the National Association of Credit Bureaus; Egon Schaden Júnior, Executive President of the National Association of Digital Certification; Davis Alves, President of the National Association of Data Privacy Professionals (ANPPD); Phillipe Fabrício de Mello, Legal Advisor to the Federation of Hospitals and Health Services Establishments in the State of Paraná (Fehospar); and Karoline Lima, Institutional and Governmental Relations of the National Confederation of Shopkeepers (CNDL).

The General Data Protection Act has been in effect since September 18, 2020, with sanctions taking effect in August 2021. The Front asks the federal government to indicate as soon as possible the five names of the Directing Council of the National Protection Authority (ANPD), so that they are soon heard by the Senate and appointed by the President of the Republic. Another request is the vote on PEC 17/2019, which establishes the protection of personal data as a citizen's right, establishing the Union's private competence to legislate on the subject.
