The Latin American members of IASP (International Association of Technology Parks and Innovation Areas) elected Francisco Saboya, president of Porto Digital, as representative of the entity's regional division. The new representative will work on three main fronts: to facilitate integration between Latin American countries to intensify the exchange of experiences between technology parks; perfecting mechanisms that strengthen physical environments of technology hubs, such as business incubators and accelerators, coworkings, makerspaces and other instruments to induce new dynamics of entrepreneurship and innovation; and strengthen Latin America at the global level of the IASP. 

Francisco Saboya is an economist and has a master's degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco. Since August 2007, he has been the CEO of Porto Digital. He is also an advisor to CESAR (Center for Advanced Studies and Systems in Recife) and Softex Recife.

Porto Digital is one of the pillars of the new economy of the State of Pernambuco, with 200 companies that earned an average of R$ 1 billion (2010) and employ more than 6,500 people. Its activities take place in highly intensive activities in knowledge and innovation, which are software and services of information and communication technologies and creative economy, in particular the segments of games, multimedia, cine-video-animation, music, design and photography, in addition advertising and publicity.

Considered a reference in the implementation of the & #39; triple helix & #39; model, Porto Digital is the result of a coordinated action between companies, government and academia, which resulted, after 10 years of its foundation (2000), in one of the main innovation environments of the Parents.
